The Australian Timbers:
· Victorian Ash – A light, bright creamy textured grain.
· Tasmanian Blackwood – Has a spectrum of dark to light burnt caramel tones that glimmer in sunlight.
· Queensland Cherry – Has long calm grain lines and a gentle cherry tone.
*Grain may come vertical or horizontal. ** Mother Nature does as she likes while the tree grows and as a result the colour and grain of the timber can vary. We think that makes each piece beautiful and unique.
Our Process:
We select high quality Australian grown timbers. It is produced in flat sheets for us, after which the fun starts. We digitally design each product, including the cuts and etchings for each. We then use a high-powered CO2 laser to cut and etch the flat sheets of timber. When the laser is done, we sand and treat the timber to protect and highlight its beauty. We then complete the assembly by hand, which may include elastic, rivets, Chicago screws and leather depending on the product.
Product Care:
We sand then treat all our timber products with Danish Oil to protect them and highlight the timber’s natural grain and beauty. We’ve also been personally using and testing our products for over 7 years. They are sturdy! In the unlikely event you get a mark on your timber you can rub a white vinegar-soaked corner of a cloth to clean it. If you want to refresh the delightful smell or the protection the Danish Oil provides you can pick up a small can from your local hardware store.
